Three of the Most Unsurpassable Staircases

Staircases; some of the most difficult and challenging architectural elements to design around, but oh how fun they are. A lot of the time, we are left confused as to how we should accessorize the blank, tall walls that stand next to our staircases. But, if done correctly, staircases can become much more than just a vehicle for us to get to another level. They become prominent design features that stay put, yet stand out. Below is a compilation of three of our favorite staircases. Let us know what you think, and email us photos of your staircases for a chance to be featured on our blog and/or social media!

Airy and Traditional

There are so many elements of this design that are so easy to fall in love with. In the first place, the foyer of this home is fitted with a stunning staircase. Beautiful, white wainscotting along the rise of the staircase draws the eye up to the large window at the first landing. This space is so bright and open, which is sure to make guests feel welcome upon entry. Architecturally, this foyer is eye-catching-- but it doesn't stop there. Classic design paired with this staircase creates a very traditional, timeless look that can easily be recreated through English Traditions. Do it yourself or ask us about our design services; we'd be more than happy to help!

Breezy and Beautiful

The yellow walls of this space are relaxed and simplistic, yet the wainscotting and intricate railing detail add a unique flair to this charming design. The word "airy" perfectly articulates how this space feels. With large, bright windows and an open back door, this home is worn in yet so beautifully designed. Next to the stairs is a server with a pond yacht, something we are known to carry. In the back, a loveseat is positioned next to the back door, providing a space for you or your guests to put on or take off their shoes. In this instance, the stairs are so much more than just mere stairs; they showcase true craftsmanship and architectural perfection.

Bright Black and White

The simple design yields the most striking design in this space. The dark front door juxtaposed with the stark white walls creates a distinct and charming look. The checker-printed floors allow for something simple (like light wood) to be a true design feature and the minimal use of decor allows for the stairs and door to speak louder than words. Although we don't carry this exact chair, we've supplied you with one that would also work in this space. Its circle shape on the back contrasts against the repeated diamond pattern on the floor and the dark finish on the chandelier matches the paint job on the door and stair railing.
